You met at Sick New World. What now?
Start with the moment you both experienced. A good missed-connection post lets someone recognize themselves and choose to reply, without asking the internet to identify or track them.
Write down what you remember
Note the edition, city, event date, shared conversation, meeting area and approximate time while they are fresh. Distinguish “we talked by the merch line” from “I noticed someone across the crowd.” The board is for real interactions, not identifying strangers you watched.
Search before you post
Search Sick New World connections for an artist, stage or detail from your conversation. Use the date filter to separate Texas and Las Vegas editions. Try a different word if there are no matches; the other person may describe the same moment differently.
Make the title about your shared experience
For example: “We talked about our first concerts in the merch line.” That is a writing prompt, not a real post. Explain enough of your interaction to be recognizable and leave out full names, contact details, social handles and private locations.
Keep one answer private
Ask a question about something you actually discussed: a joke, a song or a small detail. Do not reveal the answer in the public story. Read a reply carefully; someone guessing the answer has not verified their identity.
Share an invitation, with permission
Share your own post link with friends or in a relevant community that permits it. Follow the group’s rules and avoid repeated posts or unsolicited messages. Do not repost strangers’ profiles or photographs, ask others to investigate them, or import their stories without consent.
Let the story end kindly
No response is a valid outcome. A second hello is optional. Close your post when it is no longer needed, and use Block or Report if a conversation feels wrong. Meeting a new friend or saying thank you is just as welcome as a romantic connection.
